A predictive model unifying hydrogen enhanced plasticity and decohesion

چکیده

The detrimental effect of hydrogen on metals which manifests itself as a transition from ductile to brittle failure mode is, for the first time, incorporated into unified continuum-scale predictive framework. complete Gurson model, designed predict by voiding, is extended include decohesion. Hydrogen enhanced plasticity accounted through acceleration voiding process while induced decohesion realized degradation threshold. interplay between these two modes driven concentration are well captured. This model can realistic level embrittlement suppression dimples in fracture surface. Being generic, versatile, and easy implement, may serve basis interpretation laboratory experiments enable transferability results integrity assessment engineering components environment.

Hydrogen in tungsten: Absorption, diffusion, vacancy trapping, and decohesion

Understanding the interaction between atomic hydrogen and solid tungsten is important for the development of fusion reactors in which proposed tungsten walls would be bombarded with high energy particles including hydrogen isotopes. Here, we report results from periodic density-functional theory calculations for three crucial aspects of this interaction: surface-to-subsurface diffusion of H int...

A Strain Range Dependent Cyclic Plasticity Model

Hysteresis loop curves are highly important for numerical simulations of materials deformation under cyclic loadings. The models mainly take account of only the tensile half of the stabilized cycle in hysteresis loop for identification of the constants which don’t vary with accumulation of plastic strain and strain range of the hysteresis loop. This approach may be quite erroneous particularly ...

Numerical Analysis of Hydrogen Transport using a Hydrogen-Enhanced Localized Plasticity Mechanism

In this study, the hydrogen transport phenomenon was numerically evaluated by using hydrogen-enhanced localized plasticity (HELP) mechanisms. Two dominant governing equations, namely, the hydrogen transport model and the elasto-plastic model, were introduced. In addition, the implicitly formulated equations of the governing equations were implemented into ABAQUS UMAT user-defined subroutines. T...

Nash-Optimisation Enhanced Distributed Model Predictive Control

This study presents an efficient distributed model predictive control scheme based on Nash optimality, in which the on-line optimisation of the whole system is decomposed into that of several small co-operative agents in distributed structures, thus it can significantly reduce computational complexity in model predictive control of large-scale systems. The relevant nominal stability and the per...

Comparison of two integration schemes for a micropolar plasticity model

Micropolar plasticity provides the capability to carry out post-failure simulations of geo-structures due to microstructural considerations and embedded length scale in its formulation. An essential part of the numerical implementation of a micropolar plasticity model is the integration of the rate constitutive equations. Efficiency and robustness of the implementation hinge on the type of int...
